Chris Ruffieux is vice president of Infrastructure at Gannett where he leads teams that manage Infrastructure in North America and International based on-premises and cloud-based environments. In his current role, Chris oversees all compute/storage infrastructure, application operations, database management, the network operations center, and technology platforms that drive the B2B, B2C, and other areas of Gannett/USA Today Network. Chris and his teams are leading the way to automate and transform technology assets that remain in data centers and those that are managed on Gannett’s cloud platform.

With over 30 years of experience in Information Technology, Chris excels at team building and mentoring, leading U.S. and International teams, capital and operating budget management, cost controls, mergers and acquisitions, technology and business due diligence, and vendor management/contract negotiation.

Prior to Gannett, Chris spent over seven years as VP of systems with Infinet Communications. Infinet was an Application Service Provider startup funded by 3 major media companies, including Gannett. While at Infinet, Chris played a key leadership role in developing, evolving and guiding Internet operations through dynamic and fast-paced times, with company needs constantly adjusted, as online strategies began to solidify for media companies. In his role as VP of systems, Chris led teams that built, scaled and managed all web and ISP systems infrastructure.

Chris also held lead Systems Analysts roles at PRC and Digital Equipment Corporation.

Chris holds a B.S. in Computer Science from University of Maryland.
